Queens Shines at NWC; Trushes Sri Lanka

Malawi Netball National Team, the Queens continue to outshine in the ongoing Netball World Cup tournament being held in Australia.

Having defeated their rivals, Pras Proteas of South Africa with 58 – 51 baskets yesterday, the Queens have today defeated become the first team to score 100 goals in the history of the tournament having defeated Sri Lanka with 101 baskets to 18 baskets.

Queens’ New-Zealand based shooter Mwayi Kumwenda and Sindi Simtowe were shooters to watch in today’s game having netted 33 baskets and 22 baskets respectively.

The Queens will play Singapore in the last preliminary round match on Sunday at 10.15am.

Unlike the previous tournaments in which African Continent was represented by South africa and Malawi, Africa is now represented by Malawi, South Africa, Uganda and Zambia.
