Malawi Netball Nation team, the Queens continue to shine at the ongoing Netball World Cup which is underway in Australia, Sydney.
After teaching Sri Lanka a netball lesson yesterday,the Queens have today emerged victors again over Singapore with 75 baskets against 31 baskets. The Queens dominated all quarters with the helping hand of Mwai Kumwenda and Sindi Sintowe.
Mwai Kumwenda scored 39 baskets out of 43 chances she had and Sindi Simtowe scored 23 baskets out of 24 chances she had. The other baskets were scored by Joyce Mvula (6) and Jane Chimaliro (7).
Speaking to BBC Sports desk, Queens headcoach Peace Chawinga praised her girls for the job well done and dedicated the win to Queens’ Winger Bridget Kumwenda who is celebrating her birthday today. “My girls worked as a team and hence the win. I dedicate this to Bridget who also had a good”
Chawinga continued to say that her dream is to defeat all teams and become champions of 2015 Netball World Cup.
With today’s win, the Queens have finished preliminary round with 6 points and top the group seconded by their rivals South Africa.
