Big Bullets fc has proceeded to Calsberg cup finals after defeating Silver Strikers in a physical game at Kamuzu Stadium on 15th August 2015.
Jafali Chande opened the score sheet with a simple finisher from Fischer Kondowe’s cross which passed through the Bankers goal keeper Blessings Kameza. Silver Strikers played the entire first half under panic as even though Peter Pindani and Green Harawa threatened searching for an equalizer but the BB’s defense manned by Fodya was intact.
Bullets through Chiukepo Msowoya, Jafali Chande, Dalitso Sailesi and Diverson Mlozi who came in for Mussa Manyenje came wave after wave to the Bankers goal but lucky enough the first half ended 1 – 0 in favor of Bullets.
Bullets players started second half on a high note giving the Bankers no chance on the ball. Diverson ‘Agogo’ Mlozi doubled the lead with a beautiful header on 56th Minute of the match. As the Bankers though of coming into the game, Chiukepo Msowoya scored a third goal through a penalty after he was brought down in the box.
In the dying minutes, the Bankers who had now dominated the centre launched various counter-attacks in search of a consolation goal but Yamikani Fodya and Bashir Maunde tied the peoples team defense.
Chiukepo Msowoya was voted man of the match in today’s game and walk away with a medal and a sum of K10, 000 from the sponsors of the cup Calsberg Malawi.
Bullets’s outgoing head coach Mswazirimo Ramadhan praised his boys for making it into this year’s Calsberg cup finals “I thank God for handing us a victory. Silver is a tough team and winning with 3 goals is not a joke and my players had a good game”. Bullets’s assistant coach Mabvuto ‘Tigana’ Lungu said its his dream for the Peoples Team to defend the title.
On the other side, Silver mentor Stain Chirwa accepted the defeat but could not put blame on someone “hope God had planned the victory for our opponents”.
Big Bullets awaits for the winner between Mighty Be Forward Wanderers and Moyale Barracks in a second semi-final at civo stadium tomorrow.
