Well known Malawian rapper Gwamba who is also known as Gwambizo has revealed that he is currently working on a video of a newly released single called “Munthu” which features the International award winning Hip-Hop star Tay Grin, real name Limbani Kalilani and Malaulo.
In an interview with Malawi Music.com, Gwamba has promised his fans that the working on the shooting of the video is in progress and the video will hit the internet soon. The shooting of the video is directed by Essim and Ben Sam who are both Lilongwe based video directors and have joined forces specifically for the project.
According to one of the directors, Ben Sam, the shooting of the first part of the script has gone well and the shhoting of the remaining script will be finished soon. “My management is working on the release date but we might as well release it at Lake of Stars,” he said while promising fireworks.
“Munthu” which was produced by a Lilongwe based producer Dj Sley is found in Gwamba’s sophomore album titled “Chako Si Changa” which is yet to be released under his new label which has been co-founded after ditching Prime Time Media.
according to statistics on Malawi Music.com Official website, the song has been downloaded more than 23 thousand times and is enjoying massive airplay on local radios in Malawi and also in neighbouring countries.
Gwamba, whose real name is Duncan Zyambo came into light after he released “Ndiyima Pachulu” and “Bola Kusache” in late 2013. A native of Rumphi, northern Malawi, he derived his stage name from tribal language Tumbuka, which means ‘Someone Who Gives’. Gwamba started rapping in 2005 as a kid who grew up in the capital Lilongwe. His passion for rap music came when he was in Form 1 at St Johns Catholic Secondary School, where with his hommies Cyclone, Emm Q and L.I they formed a crew called Pittie Boiz.
