Malawi’s worthy Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) has donated a cheque worth about K44 million to Football Association of Malawi (FAM) as a part of his charity works.
The South African based prophet who is currently in the country has donated the Cheque at a gathering which was witnessed by some FAM officials at Mpira House in the city of Blantyre. Speaking during the event, the Major 1 as he is fondly called by his followers said that he as moved with his passion of Malawian football and decided to donate the cheque so that FAM should be helped in one way or another. “I’m a Malawian and I love my country. I also love football, that is why I decided to extend my charity works to the football industry”, Bushiri was quoted saying.
Speaking on behalf of FAM, Suzgo Nyirenda hailed the prophet and said the help has come on time as FAM was complaining that it does not have enough resources to run Flames for the entire 2016. This was so because FAM spent a lot of resources during the Tanzania games in 2018 World Cup Qualifiers which Flames lost 2 – 1 on aggregate.
Bushiri who is father and founder of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) is known with charity works as he is also distributing free maize to families affected with hunger in Malawi.
