Avokado, the Shot Ya Gaba icon, has released a new song titled Agogo and has promised his fans to anticipate more fireworks in the future.
Speaking to Nthanda Times, Avokado whose real name is Chris Malera has said he has dropped the tune Agogo to wake up his fans across the nation. “People thought that after Chanco I will stop music”, explains Avokado, “but I am taking it from there”. The piece Agogo has been recorded by Papi of PV Multimedia in Lilongwe.
Avokado who is now a Chancellor College alumni rose to fame with hits such as Shot ya Gaba, Mkazi wa pa Chanco and Kankanangankananga recorded by by Special Dee of FH Records in Zomba.
Avokado’s type of music is ntopwa and he says that it is a dedication to Ntopwa his home. “What I do is not hip hop, it is not reggae, not RnB, but its Malawian dance music. A fusion of modern and local staff,” highlights the Shot ya Gaba star on his music style.
Meanwhile, Avokado has revealed that he and her girlfriend Stella Chitukula, a first year Bachelor of Science Education student, has been blessed with a daughter Theodora.
His music is all about making people to laugh and be able to sing along. As people listen to Agogo he has promised to drop another single titled Ngati Phiri la Chawe soon. To those who are expecting an album, Avokado says that he is now focused on maturing in music and expects to come with an album in the coming two years.
