Bullets Host Moyale as Wanderers Travel to Lilongwe: Tnm Super League Week 1 Preview

The day has finally come, the waiting is over. It is time for football fanatics in the cotuntry to shed tears of joy and sadness. After about four months of break, Tnm Super League is here once again. Time has really come for teams to show off what they have been doing during the break. Players must prove themselves helping their teams to get maximum points over their opponents. The Journey of POMPO POMPO KUTENGA 3 POINTS begins tomorrow with two or three abnormalities engulfing its governance. The launch game is between reigning champions Nyasa Big Bullets and Moyale Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre in a launch game.
2016/2017 Tnm Super League season has come with a few changes. This has been done to improve football development in the country so that our football quality should at least match that of international level. The first thing which makes this Season different from the previous ones is that of coaching licences. Upon learning that many coaches of super league teams in the country do not qualifications which enable them to carry out their roles efficiently, it took the courage of Football association of Malawi (FAM) in collaboration with Super League of Malawi (SULOM) to organise a special training course for such mentors so that they should at least have a minimum coaching qualification which is Caf C license. The likes of Mighty Be Forward Wanderers’ Eliya Kananji, Former Bullets coach Mabvuto Lungu, Former Civo Service United coach Oscar Kaunda just to mention a few should have the qualification of coaching. This mean that all teams in 2016/2017 season will have qualifications and this would possibly will change some tactics which the teams use. There will possibly be more competition between teams this season. Club license is another thing which has made this year’s league different from the previous seasons. Though there have been some hiccups in the process, teams have responded positively to the development.
Below are the fixtures of week 1
Big Bullets vs Moyale Barracks, Kamuzu Stadium, 2:30pm
Nyasa Big Bullets Football club start their journey of defending the championship by hosting the Kaning’ina Soldiers on 16th April, 2016. They want to prove to their sponsors that they are really the big team in the country. This will be the official launch of 2016/2017 Tnm Super League Season. No one can deny the fact that Nyasa Big Bullets was the best side last season and that they really deserved to be crowned as champions. But the question is, will Bullets successfully defend the league title as they did last season? This question will be best answered as events in the league continue to unfold. But Bullets will be the team to watch this season with no doubt as teams will aim to stop the team from re-defending the title once more. On the other side, Moyale Barracks had a poor run last season having moved form second position in 2014/2015 season to 9 in 2015/2016 season. They however blamed their bad run on the absence of their power house Gastin Simkonda who was away on peace keeping mission. Now that Simkonda is back, will Moyale return to its best form like it was in the previous seasons? This will be a very entertaining match as both teams will want to prove their superiority over the other. Bullets, who are chasing their third successive title, have said they are looking forward to starting their campaign in style. Bullets will look up at their creative strikers who started their work last week when they defeated their arch rivals Mighty Wanderers.
Mkwate: a player to watch this season

These are Chiukepo Msowoya and Muhammad Sulumba. The likes of Mike Mkwate and Ernest Kakhobwe are among the players which will attract attention of supporters. On the other side, Moyale will mostly rely on the works of Deus Nkutu and Fukizi Chrispin. Moyale’s new coach Collins Nkuna said he is looking forward to a good start in his new stint with the Kaning’ina soldiers.

Kamuzu Barracks vs Civo Service United, Civo Stadium, 2:30pm
Civo Service United started last season with a nightmare having played about 465 minutes without scoring a goal. They anchored the table together with Wizards fc, Mzuni fc and EPAC fc in the first 9 games of the league. They however turned things the other way round and started collecting points and survived in the league and managed to win Standard Bank Knockout Cup after beating cup favourites Mighty Be Forward Wanderers a single goal to nil curtsey of nelson Kangunje’s goal. Having lost their two key defenders Emmanuel Siyeni Zoya and John Kintu Lanjesi, the Civo Servants will start a new life with their new coach Milias Jegwe Pofera. Nelson Silencer Kangunje is probably a man to carry Civo’s hopes this season. On the other side, The soldiers will wish to erase their bad record they registered last season and failed to finish in top 6. They almost lost all their last games. In this opening game, they will work towards winning it. Harvey Mkacha is a man to watch to the soldiers side as he is unpredictable just as Kangunje.
Mafco fc vs Mzuni fc, Chitowe ground, 2:30pm

The last season’s runners-up Mafco host Mzuni at Chitowe in Dwangwa, Nkhotakota. Mafco was one of the strongest sides last season. Emmanuel Chipeta is the guy who punished Mzuni last season with his classic goals. The students also had a remarkable performance last season under the leadership of former Flames head coach Kinnah Phiri no wonder they avoided relegation. Taking this team for granted is a big and serious problem, Mighty Be Forward Wanderers can agree with me. Mafco fc will miss the works of their key players such as Kalisto Kalinda, Richard Mbulu, Hassan Anganga Chapola and Paul Phiri just to mention a few and have loped in Stan Malata and other few players from fellow military teams while Mzuni fc has loped in Lazarus Deko Nyemera, Lussel Mwafulirwa just to mention some. This is also an unpredictable match as the outcome is uncertain.

Red Lions vs EPAC fc, Balaka Stadium, 2:30pm
Red Lions suffered a heavy blow last season following a ruling which saw their key players banned due to violence which erupted when the soldiers were playing Wizards fc. Some of the players have finished serving the ban and will be seen in field of play. Possibly, they will boost the strength of the squad with the collaboration of Innocent Bokosi. EPAC football club survived top flight chop at eleventh hour after they defeated Dedza Young Soccer 2 -1 through Mphatso Dzongololo and Ranken Mwale. They really had a worst run in the league. Facing Red Lions in their opening match is somehow a punishment to the Lilongwe based boys. EPAC has been silent during the break as they played a single friendly match with Tnm Super League team while the Reds managed to secure strong friendlies. EPAC will really struggle this day.
Silver Strikers vs Mighty Be Forward Wanderers, Silver Stadium, 2:30pm

This will probably be match of the week. Whenever these two teams meet, they leave no stone unturned and they give us the type of football we are looking for. Silver has lost key players to Mozambique such as Ndaziona Chatsalira, Lazarus Nyemera to Mzuni fc, Peter Wadabwa to Mighty Be Forward Wanderers but have managed to lop in new blood.

The team is now full of youngsters; Brighton Munthali, Levison Maganizo, Mark Fodya, Mpachika Chisomo, Clement trota, Thuso Pipe, Mathews Sibale. These youngsters are capable of winning league. Sibale is a wonderkid just as the rest are. The Lali Lubani outfits have alos strengthened their squad with couple of youngsters and some internationals. Felix Zulu who has been promoted from the you side is marvel and impressive.

Rafick Namwera and Ernest Tambe have also been signed by the Carlsberg cup Champions. They have also found a good replacement of Richard Chipuwa in the name of Nenai Juwaya who is capable of stopping shots at the goal. Foster Namwera has also come back from Mozambique. This will be an interesting game as both sides look at starting the season on a high note. This is also an unpredictable match.

Azam Tigers vs Max Bullets, Kamuzu Stadium, 2:30pm
Max Bullets start their top flight league life with the Kau Kau boys. Azam Tigers are always taken as underdogs but they have proven to be a strong side. Despite losing their two goal keepers to Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty be Forward Wanderers, the side’s TD Abambo Alufandika said that Tigers’ supporters should not worry about the goalkeepers because a good replacement will be found in mean time. However, their key players such as Bonda Mpinganjira, Yamikani Chester and Peter Katsonga are ready to bring good results to the kau Kau boys. Max Bullets have really been given a tricky fixture. The side parted ways with coach Veteran Leo Ferguson Mpulula over contract issues. Despite this, the rookies also had no time in preparing for the top flight league. They will struggle playing Tigers in their opening match.
Dwangwa United vs Blue Eagles, Chitowe Ground, 2:30pm
The Chipiku Central region Champions will have to prove it that they deserve a place in the top flight league. Their first task is to play the Police Headquarters based boys. Dwangwa with the help of McDonald Nginde Mtetemera have promised fireworks and that teams should not except to collect maximum points easily but they have to struggle. The rookies have signed Omegadinho Mhone from Mzuni fc and the rest are from smaller teams. The visitors will miss the work of John Christopher Banda and Shumacker Kuwali who have opted to trade their business in Mozambique but have however signed Victor Nyirenda who was a free agent. The rookies will have to score past 2015 season best goal keeper John Soko. Dwangwa was also silent during the break whilst Blue Eagles managed to secure few friendly matches. This will be a difficult match to the rookies.
